We hand make these futons using a 3" firm latex core wrapped in several layers of strong, firm cotton and an outer layer of soft wool (if you wish). Everything is then zipped up in an untreated 100% cotton case.
* The 8" Cotton & Latex Futon is not only a great, natural choice for a sofa futon, but it's a fairly luxurious bed for those used to sleeping on traditional all-cotton futons, especially with the addition of one of our Wool Toppers.
* The 8" Cotton, Latex, & Wool Futon is the most deluxe version of our futon style beds. It's resilient and firm with a soft outer feel - sort of like having all our natural beds in one compact package. Makes an extremely cozy sofa and a great every night bed, too.
Don't forget to add a 100% Natural Mattress Pad to your order to protect your futon from the natural
moisture that we each lose during the sleep cycle. It's the easiest way to keep your bed fresh and clean
for years to come.
* The cotton batting in our standard cotton beds is grown conventionally, misted with mineral oil to reduce dust, and lightly sprinkled with boric acid powder to meet Federal fire safety regulations. Boric acid is a natural mineral salt, and it is 3 times less toxic to the body than aspirin. The powder binds to the cotton fibers, so there is no loose boric acid powder in our beds. There is no boric acid in the cases.
