We here at Soaring Heart, in cooperation with The Real Bed Company, are so very proud to offer the remarkable Southard Organic Innerspring Mattress.

These comfy, bouncy innersprings are made with only certified organic cotton fabric and batting, and all natural EcoWool quilting. No conventional cotton is used, and 75% of the EcoWool blend is certified organic (the rest is naturally farmed and chemical-free, but not certified organic), no synthetic materials are used, and best of all, no chemicals or flame retardants are used.

The Southard is made in the USA, is hand-tufted and two-sided. The fabric is certified organic cotton damask; the cotton batting is certified organic cotton from the Texas Organic Cotton Marketing Cooperative. The wool is domestically farmed EcoWool from the Woolgatherer carding mill in Montague, California; and even the springs are made from 95% recycled steel.

The innerspring itself is made usiing a 14 gauge offset open coil design. The coils are hourglass-shaped with flattened ends, creating a hinging action between individual coils, allowing them to better conform to the shape of the body (it also makes them less noisy than open coil or Bonnell coil innersprings). Additionally, the individual coils are connected to each other with corkscrew-shaped wires called "helicals" that run over the tops and bottoms of the coils, preventing them from moving side to side when compressed. Great stuff!

The Southard Innerspring Mattress comes in a medium firmness only at this time (as opposed to a soft or an extra-firm), but it seems to be the one most people like anyway, and it sure does feel great.

Comes with a 10 year, non-prorated warranty against manufacturing defects (not applicable if used with a traditional box spring).

May be used with or without a wood foundation.
